Taka Fansubs Taka Fansubs
What is Taka?
We are a fansub group offering free, high-quality subbed episodes of several anime series.
What does your name mean?
'Taka' (้ทน) is the Japanese word for 'hawk' or 'falcon'.
Can I join Taka?
Perhaps. We are always looking for additional translators. If you're interested, join us on IRC and we can discuss what you have to offer.
Which series are you currently subbing?
Our main project is Naruto Shippuuden. Our current side projects are the New Kyoto Arc - Kenshin OVA, and the Golden Age Arc - Berserk movies with THORAnime. We're also working on Shingeki no Kyojin with Lag Fansubs.
Will you sub (insert anime name here)?
We're not currently looking for any new projects to pick up. However, this could change in the future. Please don't send us any requests though.
How long does it take for you to release an episode?
When it's ready. Typically we release an episode 1-2 days after it airs in Japan. If we don't release it sooner, it's not because we're being lazy or don't care, it's because we've run into some issues. Please don't send us emails asking why it's delayed, or when it's ready.
Why do some releases have "v2" in their names? There are multiple copies of some episodes!
A v2 is a second release of an episode. We're human, and we sometimes make mistakes. When we find serious issues with a release, we often attempt to correct them and release an updated version of the episode that addresses the issues. Possible reasons for a v2 might include encoding errors, translation errors, timing errors, etc. We try to catch these sorts of problems in our QC phase, but sometimes things slip through.
When does Naruto air in Japan?
Naruto airs Thursdays at 7:27 PM JST (UTC+9).
Does Taka have an IRC channel or forum?
We have both a forum(See link at the top) and an IRC channel. Join us at #Taka on Rizon.net
Can I download your releases over IRC?
We recommend the use of torrents for downloading our releases. However, we also have our own XDCC bot in our IRC channel. There are also multiple other IRC bots run by third parties in our channel. If you need help with this, ask an operator in the channel.
Why do I get an Invalid HTTP URL error when I download your torrents?
In order to increase your download speeds, we've made some changes as to how we produce torrents. BitComet doesn't like this change and displays an error, so we reccomend that you use uTorrent for Windows, or Deluge for Linux.
Why have I been banned from your IRC channel? Can you unban me?
If you've been banned, then you have likely broken one of the fundamental rules of the channel. They are as follows:

#1 No begging for voice or op status.
#2 No Flooding, No Spamming
#3 No Advertising
#4 If you would like to put a bot in the channel, you may, but it must run in silent mode and be pre-approved by an op.
#5 Please ask questions in the channel instead of individual ops, be patient and wait for an answer.
#6 Asking about release times/eta's can and will get you BANNED.
#7 Do not ignore the express wishes of the ops, they make the rules.
#8 Ops reserve the right to enforce these rules as they wish.
#9 Ops May also ban for reasons not listed here.
#10 Don't offend the ops unless you feel like getting banned. The op in question reserves the right to define 'offend'.
#11 Don't insult any fansubbing groups.
The banlist will be cleared periodically. If you feel you've been banned unfairly then contact us with the details of the situation via our contact page.
Why do you use the MP4 container? AVI is way better!
AVI is an old, outdated container, and does not properly support the h.264 codec.
Can I upload your videos to a streaming video site?
No. Taka takes pride in being the best in quality. To upload our work to a streaming site, reducing the quality considerably, would show a serious lack of respect for the time and effort we spend each week subbing Naruto Shippuuden.
What is your position on the official DVDs and other merchandise?
Taka strongly suggests that you buy the official DVD's, manga and merchandise when it becomes available in your region!
I run an anime website and I'd like to link to or put your episodes up for download.
That's fine with us. Just as long as you don't take credit for it, or charge your users for downloading it.
What should I use to play your releases?
We recommend using Media Player Classic Home Cinema under Windows. For Linux users, we recommend SMPlayer.
What about VLC?
We don't recommend it. If it works, good for you. If you're having trouble with it, don't ask us for help.
Where can I donate?
Thank you for your generosity, but we're not currently accepting donations.
It's been a while since you last released an episode of Show xyz, does this mean you've dropped it?
No, if we drop something we'll make a news post about it to inform our fans, if there isn't a news post we haven't dropped it.
Will you release avi(XviD) encodes of your shows?
No, unless we're doing a joint and the other group is encoding we will never release in avi(XviD).
Will\Do you provide batch torrents of Naruto?
No, if it finishes maybe but it'll be one very big torrent... You can find batch torrents at BakaBT we do not provide support for those torrents though.
