For those familiar with Rurouni Kenshin, this new OVA is a retelling of the Kyoto Arc of the story. Shishio Makoto, a former manslayer like Kenshin himself, is on the move in Kyoto, gathering forces to try and send Japan back into the chaos and turmoil it so recently came out of. Kenshin, the only man who can stop him, must act, or else resign the peaceful times of the Meiji era to Shishio's blood lust.
